The Order of Chaos

Guild Handbook

How ControlledChaos is organized, how ranks are earned, how decisions get made, and what we expect from each other.

1. Ranks

Recruit → Adventurer → Champion → Officer → The Warlord (Guild Master). Ranks are given in Discord, and the website shows your current Discord rank.

2. The Small Council

Every Officer carries a title and owns a domain: War (Raid Team 1), the Hunt (PvP + Raid Team 2), Scrolls (Recruitment), Whispers (HR / People), Tides (Oceanic Ambassador), Coin (Guild Bank), Books (Knowledge), the Forge (Training), the Ward (Healing), and the Masher of Taters (Morale). See who holds each seat on the Roster.

New seats are only listed once someone fills them.

3. Governance

When the Warlord is away, the Master of Whispers is the first point of contact and runs any vote. Decisions are made at four levels:

The Warlord onlyOfficer promotions and titles, changes to the Code of Conduct, structural changes to the guild.
Small Council voteMajority of the Council: permanent bans, major bank spending, recruitment policy, raid roster overhauls.
Two Officers agreePromotions below Officer, warnings and temporary mutes, scheduling changes, standard bank withdrawals, alt invites.
Any one OfficerImmediate low-stakes calls, welcoming Recruits, escalating something urgent.

Officers open and vote on requests in the Member Hub, and every decision is logged for the Warlord to review. Approved rank changes are then applied in Discord.

4. Alt characters

There are two alt tags: Champ Alt for Champions' alts and Master Alt for Officers' alts. Alts carry the same trust as their main. Recruits bring alts in once they reach Adventurer, and Officers act on their mains for major decisions.

5. Onboarding

  1. Set up your profile on Guilds of WoW and link your account.
  2. React with ✅ on the Welcome Message in Discord.
  3. Pick your games and play style on the Join page (so the Council knows what you play).
  4. Introduce yourself in #about-me.
  5. Ping an Officer for an in-game invite.

6. Promotions

Time minimums are a floor, not a guarantee. Officers may hold a promotion if the spirit isn't there yet, and the clock pauses during a hiatus.

7. Code of Conduct

Teamwork above all. We win and wipe together.

Zero tolerance: harassment, discrimination or hate of any kind. These lead straight to removal.

Enforcement. Most things start with a private word from an Officer. Repeated issues lead to a warning (two Officers), then rank holds or a temporary mute, and permanent bans go to a Small Council vote.
